This has been a big month for you. You weighed in at a hefty 19 lbs at your doctor’s visit. 95% in weight; 75% in height.

You ate lots of yummy food.

You rolled over for the first time!

We spent a lot of time on the front porch in this unusually warm March.

You smiled and giggled whenever you saw a cat. You love when you get to pet one even though your pets sometimes turn into grabbing fur. Olive and Josephine like to cuddle up next to you so you can pet them. Sophie and Lupe get very concerned when you cry.

We went to visit your dad’s family in McDowell County for Easter.

20120419-021945.jpg Your cousins Whitney and Cadence sent over some pretty awesome toys.

20120419-022109.jpg Gave Dad your thoughts on his work. ;)

20120419-022313.jpg We both ended up with a pretty nasty cold after my wedding shower.

20120419-022454.jpg First time with a babysitter (Moira) while momma had her hair cut.

20120419-022629.jpg Oh and you can totally stand on your own now, Baby Hulk.

Other things you do include: sticking your tongue out, blowing raspberries, saying gah ba ah-da hoowah, get mad when I try to clean your nose, laugh like crazy when you grab and pull hair.

In just a few short weeks we will be heading to SC for the wedding and cruise. Time is flying by so fast!

Hometown visiting

We were having some work done on our house and Dwane was headed to an out of town meeting, so I went to my parents’ for a couple days.
Mom and I went to Moira’s house so she could alter my wedding dress. Beckett stayed in her baby swing the whole time. He was a bit unsure about it at first since we don’t have one, but he ended up falling asleep. Moira’s grandson also had a bubble machine that he was fascinated with. Definitely going to buy one of those.

The next day I had lots of errands to run but we went outside and played and watched baby goats when we got home. I finished up my lingerie shower invites while mom and Becks took a nap.
Today is his doctors appointment, and I’m really anxious to take him. He’s had a dry cough since we’ve come home from Nebraska. I kept waiting for him to get a cold, but nothing he acts fine. His coughs just got more frequent; mostly at night. Here’s hoping its nothing. I’m so scared that it’s something serious and he’ll end up in the hospital.

Nebraska

Today is the first day of our road trip to Nebraska. I feel so bad for making Beckett sit in his car seat for so long but he’s taking it like a champ. He’s already been to Atlanta but this trip is twice that long. He’s gotten fussy a couple times but nothing an iPad couldn’t cure. Man, I really need to put some Yo Gabba Gabba on that thing. The convention videos just aren’t cutting it.
Oh yeah, we’re going for work, not pleasure. Well, I’m going to play show off the baby and maybe a bit of organizational management. We’re filming a convention for a client and it should be a good time. They’re all nice people.

I just have to say that I hate disposable diapers. I’ve never had more messes to clean than with these things. I normally use cloth diapers but I’ve been using the disposables for this trip. I bought my first pack and I was shocked by how expensive they are. So glad I discovered cloth diapers before he was born.

Fighting fires

That is the house across the street going up in flames. It was abandoned and practically falling apart anyway. I’m pretty sure this was intentional. The downtown area is going through a rejuvenation process and another building burned down a couple months ago.
It was kind of scary watching the house burn. I was worried that some embers would fly back on our house. The firefighters sprayed the house for hours and it’s finally out. And now we all smell like a campfire.
